Booking a Session

Q - How do I book a session?
Please send an email to dawna.wright143@gmail.com OR
call 608-354-3891 and leave a message for me, Dawna Wright.

Q - What should I wear?
Casual, traditional, or formal?  That is the question.  Wear your favorite clothes because they represent you.  Keep it simple without a lot of patterns.  Your face, NOT your clothing, should be the most important feature.  If you feel confident in the clothing you are wearing, it will show in your photos.

Q-What should men wear?
Casual look--grab jeans, shorts, and a shirt you feel confident in.
Traditional Look--wear a long-sleeved shirt or a sweater. (medium to dark-colored)
YES, even in the summer.
Formal Look--wear a suit and tie, with or without a suitcoat.

Q-What should women wear?
Casual Look--a sundress, jeans, shorts, and a shirt you feel confident in.
Traditional Look--long-sleeved shirt or sweater
Formal Look--dress or even your prom dress

Q-Hair?
If you plan to cut your hair, highlight it or color it, I recommend that you have it done 2 weeks before the session so your hair settles into its natural look.  This is also NOT the time to try something new and crazy.  You don't want to hate your photos every time you see them!

Q-Shaving?
Men, you may wish to shave within an hour of our photoshoot, especially if your hair grows quickly.  A 5 o'clock shadow can't easily be removed through retouching.

Q-Makeup?
Makeup is up to you.  You can go a bit heavier/darker than you normally do.  You may wish to bring your makeup with you so that you can reapply as necessary.

Q-Facial Blemishes?
For BOTH men and women, use coverup on any dark eye circles, moles, acne, blemishes, or scars that you don't want to be seen in the photos.  Apply coverup to anything you don't want to see in a photo.  You can see what your photos will look like by standing about 2 feet from a mirror.  Any blemishes that you dislike, use coverup on the blemishes.  Because you may sweat while we are taking photos, you may wish to bring the coverup with you as well

Q-Glasses?
Glasses do cause some issues with glare in photos.  I will do my best on site to control the glare by a few tricks of the trade.  To make it easier, either don't wear your glasses, borrow empty frames, OR have the lenses removed before your photos.  Some optometrists may help but you may need to ask for their help a few weeks in advance.  I am able to remove most glare in post production but at times there may still be some glare.

Q - Where and when will we do the senior photo session?
Most photos are taken either a few hours before sunset or after sunrise.  I don't have a specific location I go to but have a lot of options.  From downtown Oregon or Madison, to your own backyard, most locations will provide amazing photographs.  Many seniors already have ideas of where they would like to do a photo session, I love to incorporate your ideas into our photography session.  If you don't have any ideas, during our initial conversations, we can figure out together where you would like to take photos and when.    I also have examples of many different sites.

Q- May I include activities, cars, pets, BFF?
Absolutely!  I encourage it!
Dance, sports, art, books, car, tractors, theater, etc.
Let's have fun!

Q - What happens if the weather is bad?
Wisconsin weather constantly changes.  If the weather looks as if we will be unable to do a photography session, we will reschedule for another day.  I will call you a couple of hours before your photoshoot to decide together about the weather.

Q - When do I pay?
You will need to pay 50% of the session fee at the time of booking to hold your date and time. The remainder of your session fee is due at or before your session. After you book you will receive a contract and invoice, both are due before the session date.

Q - When will I see my pictures?
I will have basic edited images within 2 weeks of your session.  I will then ask you and your family to pick out your top photos that I will edit to finality and deliver to you.  Final images will be delivered through this website with a password locked album that you may download the photos. I can also meet in person, if that is your preferred method.

Q - What about digital files?
You will receive the final edited digital images either through digital download or if you wish to pay an additional small fee, on a thumb drive.   The number you receive depends upon the number of images that best accentuate you.

Q - How do I order prints?
You do NOT have to order prints through me, but IF you wish to order professionally printed photographs directly from me, it is a service I offer.  We can talk about prints when I deliver images.

Q-What about the yearbook?
All sessions include your selection of the photo you wish to be used in the yearbook.  I will take care of sending your selection to the yearbook.  IF your senior attends Oregon High School, I know the date yearbook files are due and where I need to send them. For other high schools, please let me know when the yearbook deadline is and where I need to send the digital files.  I encourage you to ensure that the digital file arrived.  I will let you know when I submit the files.
